Yesterday, after we left the rental house, we went to a place that had go-carts and a miniature golf course and a few other things. I sat inside and read my book. Everyone but me did the go-carts, and most of the adults (and none of the kids) played miniature golf. Our sister-in-law pulled out a lot of food and fed the kids during the golf. Then she bought ice cream for the older kids (her youngest, the almost four year old, threw a prolonged tantrum over not liking her shoes. That lasted about half an hour).

Most of us walked to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Scott's brother and his family didn't join us immediately because of the tantrum I mentioned earlier, but they did come eventually. Our waitress dealt admirably with the fact that there were thirteen of us.

After lunch, we all headed home. Interestingly, we actually saw two of the three other cars again on the road later even though we'd been the first to leave by at least five minutes. Stopping for a bathroom break and to buy milkshakes probably explains the second encounter, but the first was before that.

Our house was still there, and we were very glad to get everything inside and collapse on the couches. Cordelia watched a recorded episode of Girl Meets World, and Scott and I sort of watched part of Skyfall. There was something wonky about the volume of the movie. We could hear the commercials just fine, but the dialog in the movie was all so quiet that we couldn't hear it at all. We could have found the other remote to turn up the volume, but it was too much trouble, so we didn't. Later on, Scott and Cordelia watched the latest episode of Battle Bots. Scott's thrilled that Cordelia's getting so into that.

I wasn't hungry at all, but I need some sort of food in order to take my evening meds, so I had a cup of unsweetened applesauce. That seems to have been a good decision as I still wasn't hungry when we turned out the lights at midnight.

I can't find one of my library CDs. In searching for it, I found another library CD that I paid for months ago. I'm torn about that one because I don't want it in the least but I think they told me that they'd charge me more if I returned it later than it cost me to pay for the replacement. It was about $20 for the replacement, but I think the overdue fines would be $35 (minus what I already paid). I think the woman I talked to said that overdue fines cap out at $35. I have renewed the one I currently can't find, but I have no idea if I'll be able to find it even with two weeks more to look. I think that particular CD is out of print, so I really don't know what they'll charge me for it.

I discovered this morning that I left the checkbook at home when we went on vacation. I really thought I'd put it back in my purse. I suppose it's a really good thing we didn't end up needing it.

Cordelia definitely wishes we were still on vacation. I'm glad, however, to be home. Sleeping on my own bed was so very, very wonderful. I'm hopeful that the achiness and exhaustion will pass fairly quickly, so that I can do something beyond kind of vaguely staring at my laptop screen.

My cellphone apparently can't receive photos from smartphones. Scott's sister and her husband sent a bunch of those to the whole family, and my phone kept giving me error messages, saying that it couldn't download those messages. Scott used to send me photos on my phone, so something has changed. I suppose it may be a function of my phone being about five years old. I had already discovered that I can't open messages that contain emoji.
