on the Library Lot: the proposed convention center/hotel would only remove the surface layer of parking. The underground parking is permanent and it was designed to hold a big building on top of it, IIRC.
Me, I'm awfully fond of that surface parking space.
Books and travelling for appointments -- one of the reasons I have come to love e-books. Two weeks ago I had an hour to kill before a concert, and so I just pulled out my iPod and read some more of "Ancillary Sword." I really hate giving up on physical books -- I love bookstores -- but our house is beyond full of physical books (not to mention 2 storage lockers), and over the last few years I have read maybe 5 times as many e-books as physical books.
