I may try Captain Vorpatril's Alliance again some day, but I don't think it will happen soon.
It's not that I actually disliked the Steerswomen books. I found the world interesting and the concept of steerswomen very interesting. It's just that I put the book down and never felt any particular urge to pick it up again. I'm not sure what I missed or what I needed from the book, but there was some sort of missed connection.
As far as Captive Prince goes, I actually sometimes like slavefic, and that was the reason I tried it (that and hearing people praise it to the stars). There was something I was looking for that wasn't there. I don't try slavefic often because 95% of the time what I try doesn't work for me.
I like Elantra quite a lot, enough that I'm still determined to get back to it. It feels lived in, if you know what I mean, and the characters still have lives when they're not on screen. I think I was enjoying Fury but that the book got buried and I couldn't find it for a while.
