Can Cordelia maybe just snooze her alarm? That way she gets to close her eyes for a few moments and yet still have a wakeup a few minutes later? I find that if I'm having a particularly hard time some week, I'll set my alarm earlier and give myself a couple of snoozes to wake up more completely.
