When I saw the oncology nurse practitioner last week, she asked about vaginal dryness. Although that's an expected side effect of tamoxifen, it's not something that I've noticed a change in. Even so, she recommended using coconut oil. Specifically, she said to get a small popsicle mold and freeze coconut oil in it (with sticks, if I remember correctly) as 'vaginal suppositories' to use every two or three days. I'm more than a little dubious, mostly because I'd want to be extremely sure of the purity of the coconut oil before putting it on any mucus membrane let alone vaginally. It also seems like a rather excessive amount to use at any one time. Would it actually absorb? And frozen anything sounds unpleasant in that context.
