For "shopping," I recommend Water Tower Place. It has lots of pretty stores, you can go floor by floor so you know what you've seen, and there are benches and lots of upscale fast food places that might be able to cater to your needs.
And if Cordelia has any interest in American Girl dolls, there's a store either in the complex or very near.
