I really, really want to sleep right now, but I’ve got a lot of physical tasks to deal with before bed time, and we expect to have friends over from 7-10. The stuff involving laundry also involves a lot of waiting for things to finish, and so, to be honest, do the cooking chores.
Right now, I’m working on getting the laundry (another three loads, I think) ready to go downstairs. (There’s stuff in both washer and dryer already.) After that, I’ll wash the potatoes and cook them. Then I need to make our bed and Cordelia’s (Cordelia’s being more urgent). The trash bins need to go to the the curb. I need to cut up the pork shoulder into largish chunks and cook that. I’m doing the potatoes first because the pressure cooker is very easy to clean after that and much harder to clean after cooking meat.
I also need to make Scott and Cordelia sandwiches. Cordelia normally does her own, but since I’m making one for Scott, I might as well make hers. I’ll have everything out already anyway. The biggest difficulty is making sure that it’s possible to easily tell whose sandwich is whose. They’ll be exactly the same except that Scott wants margarine on his and Cordelia doesn’t. The first step there is to put the margarine on the counter to soften. The bread Scott bought is too soft for it otherwise.
I want to listen to something to help me stay awake, but that means I won’t hear when the dryer buzzes. Maybe I should set the timer on the stove? I can hear that over the TV or music, and an hour to an hour and a half ought to be long enough for the dryer.
