Scott and I got some basement cleaning done last night. There's still an immense amount to do, and I'm going to work on some of it this afternoon while Delia's on a playdate over at
cherydactyl. I think I'll start by washing the sheets and vacuuming the bed (assuming I can get the vacuum to work. We very seldom use it, so I haven't tried it in a couple of years).
After that, I'll sweep the floor then sanitize the bathroom a bit by spreading Lysol over everything. Scott's already put towels and washcloths down there. After that, I'll see what I can do about the dust and spider webs. I'm not sure if any of the vacuum attachments will do for that or if I'll be better off with swiffer pads. I suppose I'll find out. I am going to use my inhaler before I get going and to see if we have any of those disposable filter masks left in the house (Scott bought some when he had a cold right after Delia was born).
I'm going to take my laptop down, I think. That way, I can do a bit of book culling when I'm resting from cleaning. Or maybe I'll scribble ideas for stocking stuffer fics. I'm not crazy enough to tackle a pinch hit with the way the next two days look, but some of the requests looked very interesting. Maybe I can manage something short.
Okay, lunch is over. I indulged myself by eating some of the salmon
hopeofdawn sent me. It was delicious. Lack of good fish is one of the downsides of living in the Midwest.
