Your comments about Negima are precisely the reasons I don't want to waste any time reading it. I'm sure it's got good parts as a story, but I can't quite the image I saw in one of the early volumes out of my head (it involved a very-crotch-centered shot of one of the main female characters). It really hit my squik buttons. :p
The HIVE book sounds like a lot of fun. I like how 'henchman' is in its own category.
