The difficulty, from what my doctor said, is not that alternatives don't exist at all. It's that nobody's selling them in the U.S. for various reasons. She said that every single purchasable medication she could find information on used albuterol in some form. She can prescribe alternatives, but they do me no good if the pharmacies can't get them.

Right now, I'm hoping that the pulmonologist will know of something that's actually available. I'd expect him/her to have more ideas. Then again, the last time I talked to a pulmonologist, I got the impression that my issues were (in his opinion) too minor to be worth his time.
