I think putting a shirt under the dress would look hideous, unfortunately.
I wouldn't mind going around again in a couple of weeks. Next week is taken up by the trip to my grandmother's. I'd be interested in looking around resale shops for dresses and for shawls.
The awful thing is that I suspect that we have a shawl squirreled away in the basement somewhere. I just don't know where exactly and am in too much pain to do more than think a little about looking.
