Dear Yuletide Writer,

Thanks so much for offering to write one of my fandoms! This letter is rather scattered. I hope it helps rather than hindering.

I prefer endings that are happy or at least hopeful. I want character suffering to buy something.

I'd prefer to avoid explicit sex or heavy romance, but I'm fine with gen, het, slash (m/m or f/f) or poly fic.

I like divergent AUs, the kind where one point of canon is altered. I enjoy seeing what changes ripple out from the initial alteration. I dislike transplant AUs of the sort where everybody's in high school or part of a rock band or whatever.

My memory of the details of canon gets hazy fast. I'm not going to be obsessively fact checking what you write, and I probably won't be able to untangle any story that depends heavily on my remembering exactly what happened fifteen minutes into episode twelve. I'll remember the characters and the general flow of events, but the minutia will escape me.

I'm not a fan of horror, and I tend to get tangled up in highly poetic language. I dislike seeing characters humiliated and react very badly to seeing characters abusing their authority. I also can't handle seeing bad things happening to small children or babies.

I like to see characters develop and change. I like supernatural, science fiction and conspiracy elements and complications. I like to see characters making difficult choices and being all right afterward.

I'm sure I'll love whatever you write for me. Any story just for me will be special.

I'm pasting in the fandom specific details here at the end for my own reference. There's nothing after this that you haven't already seen.

Ayatsuri Sakon (Sakon, Ukon) - I'm most interested in the way Sakon depends on and uses Ukon. I'm agnostic on the subject of Ukon's self-awareness and such (I've also not seen all of the canon but don't object to spoilers in the least) but have enjoyed fics in which he's alive. A case fic would be great. A psychological exploration or something with magic would be wonderful, too. Please, please, no puppet sex.

Patriotic Knights (Xi Hongyin) - I found Hongyin's motivations rather opaque through a lot of the series. That is, she did a lot of things that the plot said were Right but that I couldn't figure out quite why she'd choose that way. Something that illuminates her thought processes would be great. I'm also fascinated by her relationship with her brother. The two clearly love each other even as they conflict, lie to each other and support different causes. Something exploring that relationship would be wonderful. No incest, please.

Planet Ladder (any) - I will be happy with just about anything in this fandom. Really. If you can give me more about Bambi, I'll love you forever. I'd also enjoy a story that explains what happened in the gap during the last volume. I'm sure the world saving was a bit more complicated than what we got to see. I'm not a big fan of Seeu's angst, I'm afraid. He can be an interesting character, and if you write him for me, I'm sure I'll love the story. I'd just like more about him than angst.

Romance of Red Dust (any) - I would really love to see one of the women in the series, one of them other than Hong Bi/Chu Cheng, get a happy ending somehow. I'm not sure it's possible, though-- It would have to be an AU. Alternatively, I'd be interested in knowing how Chu Cheng feels about the men in her life when they're being obsessive idiots.
