In case anybody cares, I'm trimming my IJ and LJ friends lists so that people who crosspost to DW are on my reading list there and not elsewhere. It's going to be a slow process as I spot people who crosspost and do the work to make sure I'm following them on DW.

The reason I'm doing this isn't any great passion for DW. It's a browser problem. I use Camino. When I upgraded to the most recent version of it, something about accessing IJ and LJ broke. I can no longer access IJ via Camino at all, and I can't access my LJ friends page via Camino (any other page on the site seems to be fine). Camino instantly and utterly crashes if I try, just boom and the program has quit. I looked into reporting this as a bug for Camino, but the reporting process is cumbersome, with several hoops to jump through that I'm not sure I understand.

Right now, I'm dealing with it by having two browsers open simultaneously. LJ and IJ still work in Safari. (I haven't checked SeaMonkey, but they probably work there, too.) I'm reluctant to switch browsers completely because I had a bad experience with Safari a while back when it spontaneously and irretrievably deleted all my bookmarks. That's the reason I ended up using Camino to begin with.

Anyway, if you're on DW and crossposting, please drop me a comment. Please also don't be startled or upset if I take you off my friends list here.

I don't know if I miss your post about your changing your browser to Camino but have you tried using Mozilla Firefox? It should resolve the issues you have with LJ and IJ....

I have a DW account under the same name but I keep forgetting to check it (at least I do check once a month) since most of my friends are still here on LJ. (I better go there and post something to keep it updated) Please add me there too if you don't mind. :)

it depends on what kind of pc or laptop/notebook you're using. (are you using a mac instead of a pc?) if you are familiar w/internet explorer, most of its features there are based on the firefox browser and firefox is actually easier to use now than when it was years before. if you are not a programmer, it doesn't matter since there are a lot of tools that can help you with what you need to improve the performance of your browser and you can customize it the way that you like.

i too am a newbie with firefox and i am satisfied with it and they have a lot of comms that you can visit to help improve the way you want your browser to work. good luck! :)

I think you've already done this for mine, but yes, I fully cross-post between Dreamwidth and here (with the same name at both).
