Delia's Saturday soccer game was cancelled due to poor field conditions (mud), but the Sunday game went ahead as scheduled. It was quite cold, and the wind was blowing hard. There was even a small spattering of snow during the game. Only eight of the girls on the team showed up. It takes six, five plus the goalie, to play, so everybody was in for most of the game. For a little while, it looked like the referee wasn't going to show up, and the coaches were trying to figure out how to manage without one. I think they'd have done it, too, if he hadn't finally arrived.

Scott took Delia swimming at the country rec center on Saturday. They were gone at least two hours, and she apparently had fun. They practiced some of the stuff she learned in her swim class. From what Scott said, she avoided getting her face wet at all, but still-- small steps.

Delia has started having her stuffed animals act out the Harry Potter books. She's aided in this by Scott having gotten the first book on CD from the library. She puts in the CD so she knows what should be happening then moves her stuffed animals around as appropriate. She doesn't have enough animals for the full cast of the book (I don't think she's doubled anybody up, either), but she can cover a lot of them.

Scott accidentally bought ice cream with peanuts in it last time he went shopping. I'm mildly allergic, so I avoid them to prevent the allergy getting worse. (My mouth itches when I eat stuff containing peanuts.) That's meant that I can't have the ice cream, so last night, after dropping Delia at Brownies, we stopped at Kroger and got me an assortment of single serving containers for a dollar each. I had a coffee ice cream last night. Delia tasted it and quite liked it, surprising Scott but not me-- I remember liking coffee ice cream when I was her age. It tastes much better than actual coffee.

Her Webkinz panda bear is Harry. Her Winnie the Pooh (Squish) is Ron. I'm not sure which one is Hermione-- I looked at her cast list, but I don't associate the listed name with a particular stuffed animal. She's got a quite large teddy bear named Chlorine who's Hagrid.
