As a follow up to my last post-- Once Delia was home from school, I did call the police. It only took about an hour and a half for a police officer to show up to take Delia's story. I thought it might take longer since it wasn't really urgent.

The police officer said he'd file a report because, while nothing illegal happened, it's suggestive. He left us a card in case the guy turns up again.

Delia remained fairly calm while the police officer was asking questions. She was nervous about it, but she held together.

I'm so glad you called the police. If nothing else, it shows Delia that there is support there for her, and the police are there to protect her as well as you.

Must be so traumatic. I hope this is the end of it and it turns out the guy wasn't meaning any actual harm. *hugs*

Also hoping that this is over for you all. I still might mention it to some of the neighbors that have children so that they can keep an eye out for this fellow if it was something that happened here. We have a lot of kids about here.

And the police officer sounds like a good person. There may not be much that they can do in this instance, but at least they will be on the alert in case it turns out to be someone who is making a habit of being (at the least) weird.

It's good that you called the police; I'm glad Delia handled it well.
She's such a brave girl for telling you!
