Scott was off work all this last week. It was really good having him at home. I'm going to miss him when he goes back to work.

Monday, we took a day just for the two of us. Time together without Delia is vanishingly rare, especially since she's currently unwilling to spend a night away from home.

Tuesday, Scott focused on outdoor chores. He got rid of some junk that's been in the garage since we moved in and moved the weather station paraphernalia up onto the roof. I appreciate having a reliable measure of the temperature outside, but the equipment is meant to do a lot more than that, measuring humidity and pressure and wind speed and direction. I think Scott's hoping it will get Delia interested in weather observation.

Wednesday morning, we went to Best Buy and Staples to look at more e-readers. It wasn't a particularly satisfying expedition as nobody had any Sony e-readers, and the one Kobo there was wasn't charged. I'm no closer to knowing which (if any) e-reader I want.

Thursday, we didn't do much of anything. We mainly focused on putting away junk so that the cleaning lady could mop and so on. In the evening, Delia had soccer practice. Getting there was annoying because the school where practice is is off a street that's being worked on. Traffic was down to one lane, so we had to wait quite a while to be allowed forward.

Friday, Scott and I got flu shots. We got them at Kroger so that we could accomplish something useful during the twenty minutes we were waiting to see if we'd have a bad reaction. We got our groceries, made a side trip for lunch, and went home. This year's flu shot is really aching. It's still giving me trouble.

Saturday, Delia had a soccer game. The weather was reasonably nice, and the girls seemed to have fun. This team has a few too many girls. If everybody's there, two girls have to sit out each quarter. The coach tries to be fair and to give everybody equal playing time, but it's a juggling act.

The rest of my day, after the game, was given over to laundry and dishes, nothing exciting. I did a tiny bit of writing, not as much as I'd have liked to manage.

If I'd realized that Scott's vacation was this week and not next week, I probably wouldn't have signed up for [livejournal.com profile] ficfinishing this month. I ended up doing no writing at all for most of this week. I doubt I'm going to finish chapter 20 this month. I did, at least, reach some conclusions about why it's been so hard to finish. I'm not sure how well I'll solve the problems, but at least I know what they are now.
