Sigh… I think I'm going to have to accept that I'm only really going to post once a week. I don't seem to be writing entries as often or as regularly as I used to. Some of it is the fragmentation of communities, I think. It's a little harder to get myself to write an entry to post to three different sites just as it's harder to get myself to log on to start reading when I know I'm committing myself to visiting three different sites.
I'm also feeling frustrated because I can't read any diaries that use the OD logger. It's apparently something someone created to let OD users keep track of who visits their diaries, and it conflicts with Netscape 4.78. The diaries will load up to a certain point and then stall out. Each one stops at the same point each time, 51% for this one, 36 for that and (most frustratingly) 84% for a third. I've reported the problem and got a courteous response but no solution (unless I want to switch to IE which I don't or try again to get Netscape 6.0 to work on our machine). So, at the moment, there are four of my favorites that I can't visit and a fifth that I think has joined them (That one's only failed to load once, so it could be something else. I suspect that it isn't, however).
Anyway, the last week has been fairly normal. I ran my Wednesday game, and the Annoying One actually asked the other players whether or nor their characters want his around. I don't think he was expecting the response he got. One person said no. Another said his character didn't care. The third said without sincerity that she thought there might still be potential for interesting interactions. The Annoying One then sent me yet another long message explaining what I'm doing wrong. I put off answering it for several days but finally told him that this is how I construct a story and that I can see that we may have irreconcilable differences.
During Thursday's anime watching, we ended up viewing the Ah, My Goddess movie. I rather enjoyed it in spite of feeling as if I were missing some of the background. I know I've seen the episodes, but… It's been a long time. We'll probably go back to our usual fair next week; we only made the change because LunarGeography and Matt couldn't locate the next tape in sequence for Hana Yori Dango.
Friday, Laura came over for a little while in the afternoon to discuss some things for her character in the Wednesday game. Her character had been involved in a… romantic interlude… that I chose not to run during the normal game session. She wanted her character to have a chance to talk to the guy and set some boundaries for future interactions without the other players making her blush and giggle (or at least seeing her do it).
