I'm writing this in hopes that I'll be able to post it soon. We've been without phone service since mid-afternoon on Friday. It's not clear what happened to cut us off, but we can't get a dial tone, and anyone dialing us hears ringing without answer (and our phone doesn't ring. I discovered the problem when attempting to use our modem to dial in so that LunarGeography could check her e-mail. We borrowed her cel phone to report the problem and were told that it would be fixed some time Monday.

Scott called them from class yesterday to check up on what had happened. Apparently, our work order for repairs got canceled because we're supposed to have DSL installed soon. The computer system can't handle two work orders from a single address. They promised Scott that someone will be here this morning to take care of both problems. That's why I'm up and dressed now (7:30 am). I hope that the repairs happen quickly since being without a phone isn't something I'm dealing well with. I had a stress attack last night in which I was freaking out about every little thing that I needed to do and couldn't without the phone. After Scott went to class, I cried, and I was horribly hungry (happens when I'm very stressed). I felt helpless and utterly isolated.

(Update: The repair man came about 9:30 and got things working again. He didn't explain exactly what had gone wrong, and I was too busy feeling relieved to ask.)

Oh, thank HEAVENS!!!

Also, I have the address now. No WONDER I couldn't figure it out. I was writing down Amy and Eloise-from-Chicago's addresses at the same time, and I swapped zip codes. *laughs* I couldn't figure out how to turn my writing into a MI zip code, and now I know why!
