Apr. 15th, 2002 04:50 pmMy body's been complaining a bit. Since I stopped taking the oral contraceptives a few months ago, I've been dealing with bits of the menstrual cycle that I'd forgotten about. There was a certain comfort, too, in always knowing when things were going to happen. Now, I can't be sure if I have a headache because I haven't slept enough or am stressed or because my period's about to start. I have medication I can take for the latter that will head off several days of pain (worst case) but only if I take it at the first twinges. Sadly, it's something I can't take if there's any chance I might be pregnant. And the whole point of stopping the contraceptives…
At any rate, I'm thinking I need to start keeping a paper journal to keep track of how my body changes through a few cycles so that I have a better idea of what's illness as opposed to expected process. I believe that for the last few cycles I've had a bit of a sore throat a few days before my period, but because I never wrote anything down, I can't be sure. I'm now working with the firmest of intentions.
