I finished the scarf for my sister, Diana, last night. It's just a trifle shorter than I wanted because it ended up wider than I intended. I think it's about four feet long, though, so it should be quite usable. I plan to finish my letter to her after I post all of this, so hopefully I'll get her present in the mail tomorrow or Monday, only two weeks late.

I'd hoped to finish the scarf before heading out to get dinner before going to Matt's, but that didn't work. I was halfway through the last row when Scott finished showering and shaving. I just did the rest of it at the restaurant and then got the green yarn for my father's scarf into a ball while at Matt's. We went out because we hadn't thawed anything and picked the restaurant based on the fact that LunarGeography was interested in a good salad. She and I both had salads while Scott ordered salmon. He's not too enthusiastic about fish generally, but LunarGeography and I both assured him that salmon's good. He's had it before but can never remember what it tastes like from occasion to occasion.

Scott went home after dinner while LunarGeography and I went on to Matt's. Justin was there because we planned to watch the director's commentary for the Utena movie. Sadly, the commentary wasn't nearly as informative as we'd hoped. He avoided answering many questions about the symbolism and plot (the plot of the movie makes almost no sense. One always knows what's happening at any given moment, but… Taken as a whole, the movie's pretty thoroughly surreal) and tried to focus on the animation techniques. Justin drove me home afterward since he lives on this side of town.

Justin's going to sit in on most of the sessions of the Wednesday Amber game in May partially because it's fun and partially because he's hoping to start a campaign when he gets to Maryland. He came by on Wednesday and ran two non-player characters for me. I was quite pleased because he managed to portray them distinctively enough that nobody had trouble telling who he was presenting at any given moment. I gave him two characters because one was more likely to be around the player characters at any given moment while the other was one he'd done before who was more important to the episode's over all plot.

It's been a long week. Scott was supposed to work 3am-3pm on Wednesday. He got up and went in and was informed after he arrived that they didn't need him after all and to come back at 7am. It's a half hour drive each way. Neither of us were amused. They tried to tell him that he should have called first, but that's not the normal policy, and they didn't tell him that he might be needed-- They told him he would be needed. Grr. We both hate that job some days.
