I've been doing a bit of cleaning today. I'm working in fits and starts because I don't want to wear myself out, but I've got to get it done. My brother-in-law is coming to stay with us tomorrow, and I need to have the spare bedroom usable before he arrives. I cancelled the Amber game I'd normally be running on Saturday to accommodate his visit. I'll still go play in Matt's game in the evening in order to give him and Scott some time for "guy stuff." I expect they'll play computer games.

Of course, my husband asked me to cancel the afternoon game but can't think of anything that the three of us are going to do. I asked. This amuses me more than it annoys me fortunately. I'm not sure my players would be so understanding, however, so I don't plan to tell them (unless they see it here). I suspect that by the time the start of Matt's game rolls around Scott and Jeff will be glad enough to see me go so that they don't have to feel guilty for wanting to do things that I don't or won't participate in.

I expect tomorrow to be kind of rough. Suzanne, my sister-in-law, will be bringing Jeff down (he's been staying with her family since yesterday). The idea is that we three adults will take Brendan, the three-year-old, to the Hands On Museum. I kind of think he may still be a bit young to appreciate it (Oh, he'll really like some of it, but…), and I'm already wincing at the thought of what tromping through the building's likely to do to my hip. I warned Suzanne that I probably won't be able to keep up, and I'm debating taking my knitting along.

Speaking of which, I finished a green scarf for my father. I don't really like the color that much. It's a bright, light green on the weak side of emerald and just doesn't seem very solid to me. I liked the yellow a lot better. Right now, I'm working on a scarf for my father's girlfriend. She asked for turquoise, so that's what she'll get. After I finish that and the scarf I promised to make for Scott, I'll see about getting LunarGeography to teach me to crochet. Once I've got the basics of both knitting and crocheting, I'll think about bigger projects (like the rugs for the basement that I mentioned in an earlier entry).
