Jun. 4th, 2002 12:20 pmSunday the 26th was my birthday, and we spent the afternoon with Scott's family. It was a joint celebration of my birthday and of that of both of Scott's parents. Everything was pretty laid back. Scott gave his father some Artie Shaw (I think) CDs, but the books his mother wanted hadn't arrived yet (and still haven't). The elder of my sisters called on Saturday (while I was running an abbrieviated Amber session with only two players). My mother called twice on Sunday while we were out and, even though I made sure we were home by 8:30pm, didn't reach me until Monday. My father and half-sister called on Monday, probably because that was when they were together to do it.
My half-sister has apparently been in a school play. That in itself isn't surprising. It was hearing that she'd portrayed Lady Macbeth that startled me. I think they may have switched parts from scene to scene because she mentioned that someone else had also played the part. We talked a bit about acting, auditioning and the like. I haven't done any of that for a while, but I still remember. I usually auditioned well enough to get cast, but I don't display a great range until I've had a chance to rehearse a bit, so the parts I used to get were a little limited.
