Shopping on Saturday went well. We found what we were looking for within an hour and then had time to kill as Cordelia was out and about with her aunt and cousin (getting Scott's parents' hour ready for their return). We ended up stopping at Arby's and having peppermint milkshakes. That occupied about another half hour. After that, we gave up and went back to Scott's sister's house. Our nephew and brother-in-law were there, so that was an option.
Scott's sister keeps her house relatively chilly, so Scott and I tucked up under a blanket, and I used my coat as additional insulation. Our nephew and three of his friends were playing (I think) Minecraft at first. Then they made popcorn and watched an episode of Supernatural on Netflix streaming. I'd never watched any Supernatural, so I was curious. I hadn't sought the show out because it sounded very much not my sort of thing, and watching an episode didn't change my mind. I have no idea what season this episode was, but it was the one with the killer ghost truck.
At about 4:30, Scott's sister returned with the girls. We let them play for a little while before we left. On the way home, we searched for a radio station playing Christmas music. We had a hard time finding stations that we could tune in without major static, but we eventually found a Christmas music station. We had to put up with a lot of commercials, however.
Sunday, Scott worked. I did laundry and ran the dishwasher and all the normal Sunday stuff. Cordelia called around, trying to find a friend to visit but had no luck. Everybody was busy.
Tuesday, there was yet another sub in the library. I wish they'd pick one and keep him or her long term. I suppose at this point it doesn't matter so much. The librarian might well be back in January. If she's not, maybe they'll get somebody long term. There wasn't much shelving because the kids hadn't been allowed to check out books the previous week. I ended up shelf reading during the fifty minutes between the end of Cordelia's class' time and the final bell. I just did the top two shelves of each set because I didn't feel up to getting down on the floor to do the bottom two. I figured it didn't matter too much. There weren't obvious trouble spots to be dealt with.
Scott canceled tonights Babylon 5 session because he expected to be working 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow. That has changed, but he's not trying to get the session to happen after all. Too many people responded that it was just as well to cancel because they have other things going on. Scott's still scheduled to start work at 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. We have our fingers crossed that he'll only work four hours on Saturday because we have plans in the afternoon with his parents for making and decorating gingerbread cookies. It's a family tradition for the kids. I hate the thought that Cordelia will miss out, but she may.
