The Ann Arbor schools are closed today. That means I got two extra hours of sleep (after being called at 6:15 with notice of the closure), but it also means I won't, most likely, do any writing today. I tend not to when Cordelia's at home. I'm not sure the tradeoff is worthwhile. One of Cordelia's friends will be coming over to play. That should keep Cordelia happy.
Yesterday, we all went out to the mall and got our hair cut. Cordelia and I got trims. I'd have liked her to get her hair cut shorter because it mats and tangles, but she really wants long hair like mine. I don't feel right forcing her on something like that. It was one thing when she was five and was tying knots in her hair and chewing on it. Right now, we don't have issues like that.
Since we were at the mall anyway, we went into a clothing store that Cordelia likes. We got her a pair of shorts, a dress and a cardigan. They cost a lot more than we expected them to because the dress and the cardigan were packaged together but priced separately. Scott thought the price on the cardigan was the price for both together.
Scott and Cordelia got ambitious with the chicken we were going to have for dinner. They did a flour and herb dredge and then baked the chicken. It took a long enough time that we decided to order pizza. Of course, by the time we got the pizza, the chicken was done, so we need not have bothered. I guess we'll see how the chicken came out tonight.
