Nov. 11th, 2017 11:12 amI spent most of yesterday in bed. I'm still having cramping and bleeding from the uterine biopsy. I think it's still within acceptable parameters, but I wasn't given much in the way of guidelines for that. I suspect I may spend a lot of today in bed, too, but at least I'm no worse than I was yesterday.
The mail carrier left four packages on the porch yesterday that weren't for our address. They were for the same house number on a nearby street that has a similar name to our street. Minor mail mixups between houses on the two streets are common, but I haven't had something like this before. Even if I'd felt up to walking over there, it was more than I could reasonably carry. It took me five phone calls to get someone on the line who could deal with the problem (which is not in the phone tree or the website contact us options for the USPS). Once I got her, it took about ten seconds for her to take our address and arrange to have someone retrieve the packages.
I want to finish the last of the stories that I was working on for
weissvsaiyuki. If I get it done today, I can still post it to the community. It won't earn points, but people would see it. I just have no idea where it's actually going.
I woke with a headache this morning. I'm not sure how much was lack of sleep, how much was due to the cramps, how much was something else altogether. Amerge, Tylenol, food, and caffeine helped, but I think I really need more sleep.
Cordelia's out, raking leaves to raise money for the school choir. Scott's home and keeping me company. My main goals for today involve knocking off some TBR library items so that I can return them tomorrow. A lot of holds I placed a while back have come in all at once, and I like to return as many things as I check out. It never quite balances, but it's a goal.
I tried to do a hardware diagnostic on my Macbook Pro last night because there's something weird going on with the power suddenly dying when I'm running on battery. When I restart after, everything tells me that the battery still has the same charge it was telling me it had right before it died. I still think it's likely to be the battery, but I'd like to do the testing to be sure because everything else insists that the battery is fine. I'd hate to buy a new battery only to discover that that doesn't help.
I just couldn't get the process to work. I think I need the CD rather than the process I found described in the help forum. My machine is from late 2008 (the late part matters because the versions from early 2008 can't run the OS I'm using) and may well be too old for the instructions I found. Those talked about pre-2013 machines being different, so I used the pre-2013 instruction set (which was actually pretty much the same as the set for more recent things. It's just some of what you're supposed to see on the screen is different).
