the_rckI forgot to mention, on Friday while I was trying to order from Cottage Inn, their web security authentication went, and none of my browsers would let me go to the site without warnings in huge red letters about how the connection might have been hijacked because the site couldn't prove it actually was the site I'd asked for. Scott ended up having to call to order.
Cordelia's got friends over right now. They haven't started cooking yet, so I don't know when they'll actually eat. If we end up getting pizza for them, I wouldn't be surprised. There are three girls visiting with one yet to arrive. Three plus Cordelia means enough to do the cooking and to keep the one girl who shouldn't be allowed near anything hot or sharp distracted. I was worried, when it was just Cordelia and two guests, that one person would have to do all of the cooking.
I realized last night that the actual problem with a story I'd been sitting on since August was that I needed to end it almost 500 words before the place where I had last left off. Part of my hindbrain is still howling about that and the wasted time and words, but it really needs to end there. I also realized that, although the prompt came from an anonymous exchange, that exchange is long over, so I could talk to the recipient and ask their opinion. I did, and they responded very quickly and helpfully.
