Cordelia's team lost their game today. It was a close fought game, and they only lost by two points. Scott felt that the referees were biased in favor of the other team. Cordelia agreed. I really couldn't tell. Of course, even with three seasons of Cordelia playing basketball, I know very little about the game. I often can't tell what I'm seeing.
After the game ended, we stopped at the Washtenaw Dairy for ice cream. We could have been doing that all season if I'd thought about it. I should have. Slauson, where most of the games were, is quite close to where I lived in elementary school, and that was only two blocks from the Washtenaw Dairy.
If it had been warmer today and if we hadn't needed to get home so that Scott could get ready for Circuit Wizardry practice, I'd have taken Scott and Cordelia up to my old neighborhood to show Cordelia the house where I used to live. I wonder if the rose bush is still there? It was a climbing rose on a trellis and was spectacular when it bloomed. I've always been vaguely disappointed by regular roses because my expectations were set by that rose bush.
Spring soccer starts on the 8th of April. Scott'll be coaching, and practices will be on Mondays. Unfortunately, he couldn't get his first choice field and have practices at Cordelia's school. The place he got is relatively close but does require a car ride for us to get to. I very much hope that Scott doesn't miss any practices. The family we usually rely on for transportation to practices and games when Scott's working lives very close to the park where practice will be.
In theory, I could get Cordelia to practice by bus, but the walk from the bus stop would be further than I can reliably manage. We also couldn't easily get home by bus because the buses go down to once an hour after six. Practice will last until 7:30.
