Feb. 27th, 2018 09:23 amScott had an ambush job interview yesterday after work. The guy doing the interview caught him on his second break and asked if they could fit it in right after his shift. He thinks it went well, but it's impossible to tell.
Scott's supervisor asked him if he'd be willing to spend a week working in Ohio. I'm not sure what part of Ohio, but I'm assuming far enough away to make commuting ridiculous. The plant there had a person quit and needs coverage by someone with the ability to run a particular machine. Scott refused without getting any more details. One week would be extremely unlikely to be one week. They can't possibly hire and train someone new that fast, and they weren't talking about showing someone already working there how to run the damned thing.
I mainly don't like the conjunction of Scott saying no with the interview. It's just not something that we, as a family, could manage, not when I can't even refill the bottle of hand soap in the kitchen or load the dishwasher.
Scott did a little cooking last night that ought to see me through a couple of meals. I have an 11 a.m. appointment downtown today, so I'll probably get lunch out. It will be easier on my hands and possibly get me a bit of exercise. It's supposed to be warm(ish) for February. I may still take a cab into town, and if I do, I'll get it to the library and return a few things. I don't have any holds to pick up, but it's a five minute walk from the library to the doctor's office, so why not?
