Mar. 2nd, 2018 06:17 amWe have no power. It went out in the middle of the night, and the power company has no estimate for when it will be back. Skyline has power, so I'll send Cordelia to school. At that point I'll see if I can drag my blankets to the living room. The bedroom is warmer but lacks light for reading.
I can't get at Gmail on my phone without WiFi; it simply gives me errors about not being online. Clearly, I am online, but... At any rate, I'm not going to get messages until we have power.
I can heat things on the stovetop once there's some light through the windows. I've got a lighter, so the lack of electric ignition won't be an issue.
Anyway, time to conserve power on my phone. I'll update when we have power.

Date: 2018-03-07 05:31 pm (UTC)For future reference, since this was several days ago: if you turn off the Wi-Fi on your phone, it might work. On my iPhone, if there's no Wi-Fi available, a number of apps won't access the Internet, but if I go into settings and turn off Wi-Fi entirely, the phone will metaphorically shrug and use AT&T's Internet access.
