Mar. 8th, 2018 10:10 pmMy right hand is doing much better today. I didn't post earlier because a story bit me yesterday. It's nearly 6K words now and not done, and I'm peeved at myself because the Worldbuilding Exchange story is due next week and not yet anywhere near to done.
I think I may need to get my hearing checked. Tonight's choir concert got painful whenever there was a forte high note. It sounded, every time, like it was coming through a sound system that couldn't handle the load-- loud, sharp, feedbacky noise. Scott didn't hear it that way, so it wasn't just us sitting in an acoustically bad place. I'm pretty sure that it's not possible that six different choirs (two different teachers/directors) doing twenty plus songs all made the same mistake, so I'm assuming it was my ears.
Anyway, it's bedtime. I'll try for actual content tomorrow. If anybody has advice about how to stop a story that's flowing and insisting in order to go and finish one with a deadline, I'd love to hear it. Assuming it's not the just-damned-well-do-it part of the advice. I know that bit pretty thoroughly. It's the doing it part that's hard.
Oh, and please pick a number 1-4. I have ambiguous endings to match each number and am writing partly find out which one's true. Maybe, if you all vote, I can put it aside...

Date: 2018-03-09 03:46 am (UTC)And I have never been good at yanking focus away from insistent plotbunnies without genuine last-minute deadline panic breathing down my neck. If someone volunteers a method, please share it!
