Cordelia found a cute show on Netflix last night. It's called Little Lunch and is from Australia. It's about six kids, maybe ten or eleven years old, at school. It's framed as the kids telling stories about school incidents. It's funny without making me cringe.

I finished and posted my Worldbuilding Exchange fic. I need to find a beta reader, but that was lower priority than getting it posted to begin with. I'd ask Scott, but I don't think the style would work for him.

I have two beta reads to work on and several partially completed stories that I'd like to get done. Beyond that, I mostly need to do laundry and the grocery list today. I might try a short walk if I can get myself out the door for it.

The cleaning lady didn't come yesterday. She called me an hour before she'd normally arrive to say she had a meeting and wouldn't be able to come this week. I hope she's okay. She's a naturalized citizen and black and Muslim. She rents her apartment, and problems in that direction are possible, too. She also mostly works for people with disabilities, and most of them are older than I am.

Scott’s new job seems to be going well so far. The guy training him will be continuing to do that, just part time, next week. Scott had thought that the guy would be on vacation today and not available for questions next week, so this is a relief. Scott’s also stressing over the fact that people keep telling him that’s he’s so very smart to be picking things up fast. He’s concerned that that will make his inevitable mistakes seem very, very much bigger.

I hate that Scott has impostor syndrome. I think as he starts to handle challenges, he'll feel less like that. *hugs*

This is his first new job in 24 years, and it's something that he's wanting at least that long. I think he's not completely sure it's real.

:nods: Starting a new job is always hard, even if you are overqualified for it!

(and I think that his promotion is overdue, which kind of makes him overqualified for the position at this point -- his experience is something that can't be rivaled)

I think that he's worried about the abrupt switch from needing manual labor skills to needing administrative and computer skills. Also, new things are scary.

That makes a lot of sense. I hope he can eventually relax and enjoy it.
