We had Cordelia's best friend and her younger brother over after school. He's still at the neighborhood school, and they had Expo starting at 5:00. I ordered pizza for them, and they finished off the munchies we had left from Wednesday's game session. I'd expected Expo to start at 5:30, so I'd scheduled the pizza delivery for 4:15.

Mostly, yesterday, I wrote and tidied things away so that the cleaning lady could do her work. The current story is meandering because I don't have any sort of end point in mind. I'm not sure that there's a satisfactory place to go with it because the point is accepting a long road into the future in a lot of small moments with each character finding their own paths that are, at least, better than the other options open to them.

I'm considering signing up for [community profile] bravenewbork which is an exchange for writing short fics or doing art based on things one knows little to nothing about. Right now, I'm cat waxing by looking at the titles nominated and writing down anything that sparks an idea. I'm not sure I could spin all of them into actual stories, but making the notes is fun.

I've got laundry running. I need to fill out some forms, and I need to get myself going on that exchange story again.

Scott’s cell phone doesn’t generally get a signal in his new work space. That means that I still can’t call him during work hours. It also means that he won’t necessarily get texts until he leaves.

Next week is spring break for Cordelia. We have no plans at all apart from sleeping in. I think Cordelia will get really bored by the middle of the week. I also need to make a different sort of grocery list to make sure that she has things to eat during the day. Ideally, we'd all three shop together, but she's going to resist that heavily. Grocery shopping is Not Fun, especially not grocery shopping with her parents.

I'm keeping an eye on Brave New Bork because it sounds like fun, but I'm not sure how to write a story based on that really. For instance, I saw Check Please was nominated, and based off the title I would expect a story about a waiter, but would it be okay if I wrote THAT based on the actual characters since I actually love the fandom? Is it all meant to be original fiction in disguise? Is it all meant to be total crack? Because I'm really bad at total crack. What if the author knows a little about the characters, would that essentially be badfic? I've never seen the point of doing that on purpose. But at the same time it's such a cool idea?

I need to start laundry or I'm gonna have to wear three-quarter sleeves tomorrow. It's not warm enough for that shit and I'm wearing the only cardigan I'm capable of wearing with non-long sleeves today, so... I guess I could make sure the sweater I wear with t-shirts dries, in a pinch. Hm.

Grocery shopping is the best, especially when someone else is paying for it. But I'm 28.
