Mar. 26th, 2018 09:46 pmIt's spring break this week, so Cordelia's home.
I was hoping this would be an easy week with a minimum of getting up early, but it's not going to be. I'm going to be doing about five loads of laundry a day (it was six today, but I don't think that will repeat) through Thursday..
In order to fit in all of the laundry (the dryer can take more than two hours with blankets), I'll be getting up with Scott instead of sleeping in the way I expected to be able to.
At any rate, if I promised you anything, I apologize. There will likely be delays. I had trouble sleeping last night, and my eyes ache. That happening this early in the week is a very bad sign in terms of things like my ability to do anything requiring sight later in the week.
Scott's seniority from his old job doesn't transfer to the new, even though he's still at the same company. That means that he will have last priority for getting certain more desirable vacation days. There are four people in the department, so it's likely that he's going to be consistently having to work things like the week between Christmas and New Year or any days that would, when combined with a holiday, make a four day weekend.

Date: 2018-03-27 02:27 pm (UTC)decided in favor of whoever has seniority. There are four people in the new department, and no more than two can be on vacation on any given day. That's actually better than Scott's old department which will only let one person per shift schedule for vacation during any given period.
It's a matter of having work that must get done during specific time windows and that can't be made up later on.

Date: 2018-03-27 01:32 pm (UTC)Good luck with the laundry. I need to do some laundry, but I'm sort of not home to do it and my shoulder is still killing me today. I'm having to eye the Advil that I brought from home and hope that I can wait long enough that it won't interact with the Claritin.

Date: 2018-03-27 02:32 pm (UTC)I hadn't realized that Advil and Claritin interacted. I don't take Advil because I have problems with ibuprofen, but I take Claritin in combination with other things at bedtime.

Date: 2018-03-27 04:09 pm (UTC)I took some OTC cold meds once and took a Tylenol on top of it for a headache, not registering that they both had acetaminophen in them because I was so sick that day. Luckily it was at night, but that heart-racing/sleep paralysis thing was no fun and no joke. I've tried to be overly cautious ever since.

Date: 2018-03-27 07:14 pm (UTC)At times when I have a working brain, I've found a lot online about how different medications interact and what the side effects are. I take five supplements daily (all for specific diagnosed deficiencies), six prescriptions daily, one non-prescription medication daily, and several things, prescription and not on an as-needed basis, so I tend to research things. I'm also prone to getting the sorts of side effects that are greeted with disbelief as side effects unless I can document that researchers have seen them.
At any rate, I'm glad you're being cautious. You know your body.

Date: 2018-03-27 08:00 pm (UTC)Also, the power of suggestion works on me on a fairly regular basis. The idea that I've "done something about the problem" can sometimes make me feel just as good as an actual medication would and vice versa -- if you tell me that I'm getting sick/can't do something, I seem to start overanalyzing whether I can or can't do it.
