the_rckThe Sky High story has now almost reached 87K words (I'm 212 words short). The end must surely be in sight, right?
I had a write-in here yesterday with the same two ladies who've come here for that before. It was nice outside, so we opened the windows to cool the house and were quite comfortable. If it had been 90+F outside again, I'd have changed to us going to Espresso Royale.
Our dining room has a bigger table, better chairs, more outlets, and the option for us providing our own food and drink. I prefer it on all of those fronts. It's just that, even with the ceiling fan, it's the warmest room in the house in the summer (and coldest in the winter).
I wrote about 2500 words while my guests were here. I think I'm going to see if we can do one of these a month, going forward. I like having a chance to be around people. Anybody local-ish to Ann Arbor who might be interested in joining us? I'm pretty sure that, if we do a July or August write-in, it will be at Espresso Royale.
Scott and I took a walk in the evening. We both ended up with a lot of mosquito bites because we went to the science and nature center. There was a fundraising auction happening in the parking lot while we were there. My impression was that the people attending must have a lot of money because the bit of the auction we caught mentioned $10000 a lot.
I need to gather the library stuff. Scott's going to want to deal with that as soon after they open as he can because he wants to go to the games library day in Ypsilanti this afternoon. Part of that is just getting the opportunity to play some games, but part of it is also returning the bag that one of our friends left here Wednesday evening.
The choir did a carwash yesterday. Cordelia worked 10 a.m. to noon. It was kind of chilly for being as wet as they all ended up being, so Cordelia was quite glad to come home. Scott got all of the grocery shopping done during Cordelia's shift.
