I shouldn't still be awake, but I can't sleep. I suspect that the tea I had around 5:30 is to blame. We went grocery shopping and each bought a drink. Scott and I both got flavored black teas mixed with lemonade. Mine was blueberry black tea and quite tasty. It's just that I'm not accustomed to caffeine so late in the day. I find myself quite thoroughly awake as 1:30 approaches. Cordelia will bounce in to wake me up at 9:00. I'm not going to be happy.
Rec & Ed preemptively canceled Saturday's outdoor events. It had rained so much all week that the fields were soaked. They sent the coaches an e-mail some time Friday afternoon. We were just as happy because it was cold and windy. According to Cordelia, we had hail around nine Saturday morning (I heard precipitation while I was drowsing. It could have been rain or hail).
Scott ran a Circuit Wizardry practice from 2:00 to 4:00, but the girls rebelled and spent the last half hour playing. They're simply not feeling the urgency. Scott doesn't feel optimistic about their chances because they really haven't learned how to put together a circuit. He did send one of the two circuit kits home with the other girl in hopes that she'll practice on her own. He thinks they'll do pretty well on the written portion of things. It's the designing and building a circuit that will give them trouble.
Scott had PT Friday evening, so he didn't do the grocery shopping then. Instead, we all three went about 4:30. We went to Busch's for produce and meat and then to Kroger for everything else. Neither place had good bok choy, so we paid extra and bought baby bok choy from Kroger. On the way home, we stopped at the Syrian place (the name of which I forget) and bought pastries and baba ghanouj. I really love their baba ghanouj. They make it with yogurt.
Scott has purchased an exercise bike. He really wanted something he could use at home, and this one looked good. It has a tray to hold a laptop or a book or what have you. For the laptop, you have to use a strap to keep it in place because it wants to slide off. Scott and I have both used it a couple of times. It's a challenge for me because I'm so short that I have real trouble climbing on. It's also going to be interesting to see if I can learn how to adjust the seat properly. Scott's a foot taller than I am and needs the seat in a very different position than I do.
The intention is to park the bike next to the couch. It's not there yet because there's so much other stuff living there that has to be moved. Once it's there, I may have an easier time climbing on. At least, Scott thinks so. I suppose we'll see. I wonder where the shredder, the file box and the wastebasket will go now.
