the_rckI was up at 7:00 this morning, around the time Scott left. I had a headache that wouldn't let me go back to sleep. I really would have liked more sleep, but, as usual, what killed the headache was food. Honey in my tea took care of 75% of it. A bowl of spinach bean soup dealt with the rest. I just want more sleep.
I can relax until about 4 p.m. today. Then Scott will come home early so that we can run a couple of errands and then go to the credit union branch on State St to close on our home equity line of credit. I'm not thrilled by the terms of the loan because it's got a floating interest rate, but the monthly payment will be much, much lower than our current monthly payment on the car loan, enough so to cover more than half of Cordelia's medical expenses.
We're scheduled to have people over for games tonight. I don't know if we'll go back to Scott's Firefly game or if we'll play board games. It depends on who's able to come and on how Scott's feeling. It would be nice if someone other than Scott was up to GMing for the group, but out of all of us, he's the one who can match playing styles with everyone. Also, up until he switched jobs, he was the most reliable about being able to run.
I don't think I can run a game that this group of players would enjoy. Otherwise, I'd be tempted to try. I haven't run a campaign since Cordelia was quite small, and I'd very much like to do so again. It's just that my GMing is like my writing. It works really well for some people and not at all for other people. Out of the five other people in the group, I'd be a good GM for two of the players, a terrible one for a third, and strongly want to strangle the remaining two.
Tomorrow will be kind of hectic. Well, no. I have plenty of time, just not enough to justify coming home between appointments. I need to get up with Scott so that I can do all of the preparatory stuff for the cleaning lady before I leave for the dentist at 11:15 or 11:30. My appointment is at 12:30. Then, at 4:30, I have an appointment downtown.
I would like to walk around a bit between appointments and do some Ingress. It's a relatively long walk (for me) from one appointment to the other, so I'm thinking that I'll break it up a bit to cool off and rest. That will also give me opportunities for charging my phone since it will only charge if I keep it very still. That works better when I put it on a table.
Last night, I found a box with five things we meant to give Cordelia for Christmas. She was pleased by three of the five and not displeased with the fourth. The last one, she no longer wants at all. It's a CD, so I'll try it and then donate it if I don't like it.

Date: 2018-07-19 12:47 pm (UTC)In this case, I think that Scott moved the box from where I'd been keeping things. In the new location, it was just an anonymous cardboard box that I didn't even notice existed. The lighting in the basement isn't great, and the box was on an empty shelf in a dark area.
I'd had the presents in the same closet as the tree ornaments. I'm pretty sure that Scott moved things so that he could safely send Cordelia down after the second box of ornaments.
Or maybe I put it on the shelf and just can't remember doing it.
