Jul. 18th, 2018 04:33 pmSitting in the waiting room for the CT scan. They asked me a dozen times about allergies to iodine contrast, but they never mentioned that they’d expect me to take anything else at all. They wanted me to drink a premixed thing containing other things that will make me very sick, so they had to call for directions. I suspect that what I end up with will be really beyond nasty. Hopefully I can get it down and keep it down. I have swallowing issues with thick fluids.
I wish they’d told me more beforehand.

Date: 2018-07-19 05:04 am (UTC)They did the same thing to my mom. When we showed up for the scan, they gave her a bunch of liquid to drink and it messed her up for hours. At the next appointment, we told the doctor not to schedule her any more tests with surprise fluids or weird dietary restrictions.
Why are we expected to be mind readers about this stuff?
