I tried last night with no Halcion, too, but ended up taking half a tablet after I'd tossed and turned for an hour. I didn't think I could handle two nights in a row of no sleep, not given the upcoming visit to my parents. I had been taking a whole tablet, so half is a step down. I'll probably stay at half a tablet through Monday night. I'll be stressed enough between now and then to have trouble sleeping.

I'm not entirely sure what the point is in getting off the medication given that I'm going to need it again in September when my window for weeknight sleep shrinks horrifically again.

I slept better last night than I had the night before. That's not saying much, of course. I'm still having a lot of trouble with timing and with physical discomfort. Scott getting up at 5:30 and then having loud alarms on his phone and wanting a goodbye hug at 7:10 mean that I can't sleep between when he gets up and when he leaves. The hug is new this summer, and I need to ask him not to do it because it's right at a point when I start feeling like I might maybe sleep again. Him coming in means that I almost certainly won't sleep again, especially on days when I have an appointment and have to be up at 8:00. I probably also need to start wearing earplugs from when he gets up until when I get up. I used to wear them, pre-Cordelia, but it's been a very long time.

My right shoulder felt better yesterday than it had in a long time. It's a bit more painful today, and I think that part of it is how I fold my body when I'm trying to fall asleep.

Today's to-do list is mostly centered on packing. We'll only be gone two nights, and I'm trying to figure out how to minimize what I need to haul with us. I think I might put our vitamins in baggies rather than take the bottles because those are huge. I know exactly how many we'll need, so that's easy enough.

I just want to be ready to leave when Scott gets home from work. Well, as ready as we can be, I'm not packing his bi-PAP or his electronics or his medications. I asked him for a list and got '3 days of clothes, toiletries, bi-PAP.' I'd have liked a better list of what he thinks he needs. Packing will likely take less than an hour, and most of that will be trying to make a good list.

Have you and Scott considered having him switch to waking up with a vibrating bracelet type of alarm instead of a sound alarm, so that there's a chance of him not waking you? Just a thought -- I have no idea if that would work.

I hope your trip goes well!
