Aug. 20th, 2018 10:19 pmOur bed here is painfully hard and very high off the ground. Scott commented that he felt like he needed a ladder to get in and out, and he's a full foot taller than I am.
There are a lot of broken things in this rental and a lot of things that are otherwise not quite as advertised. The dishwasher is tiny. Half of the things in the 'commercial kitchen' don't work, and the selection of cooking utensils and pots and such is extremely limited. We haven't managed to find any hot pads and have had to resort to folded washcloths (we only have about six of those, so that will be an issue, too). Very few of the light switches are actually in the rooms for which they control lights, and half of the living room lights are dead. We think it's that the switch is bad because the one that we think it ought to be (based on what else is controlled from that panel) doesn't do anything at all.
Our youngest niece is being treated for lice. Cordelia may have been exposed because she's the one doing most of the playing with her. (The niece is seven years younger than the next youngest child and is the only non-teenager. She's kind of without people to play with.)
We went out for dinner last night, and I had a very hard time finding anything on the menu that I could eat. It was an extremely limited menu, maybe a dozen options total (including two kinds of hamburger). Scott and I ended up splitting a dinner, and I still ate something I shouldn't have (I'm almost certain it was some sort of additive in the meat). They had amazing cherry pie, though, made properly-- with tart cherries.
