Sep. 3rd, 2018 10:29 amScott got a call at about 6:00 this morning to tell him that they'd lost eighteen hours of production on one particular line. This means rejuggling all of the schedules. The various lines aren't interchangeable. I think there's some overlap between some of them, but production scheduled for one line can't generally be shifted to another line even if that other has some downtime.
Apart from that call, I slept eight hours. The last few hours were that kind of twilight of not quite being asleep but also not being awake. When I'm like that, I'm aware enough to shift position but asleep enough that my brain is still trying to dream.
Scott's parents really wanted to spend today with us, either us visiting them or them visiting us. They even suggested doing yardwork together (which... we do need to do yardwork, just not today). Scott kind of desperately wanted a day to rest and not need to be trying to get things done for other people. We had a full week with his parents during vacation.
I'm looking at pinch hits this morning. There are four people on the pinch hit list for AUEx that I could pretty certainly manage something for and another two or three for whom I could maybe manage something. I probably can't manage more than one story.
I'm also looking at Fandom Giftbox. The requesters of all of the seven prompts I had saved off for the latter have come up as not having even two gifts. I had hoped that the needy list would narrow things down a bit because I'm not likely to write more than three fills if I write any. I tend to find these faster to write than other things. I'm not sure why. Possibly because I don't tend to write much plot for them?
I think I know what I'm going to nominate for Yuletide, but until nominations open and I click send on the form, I could change my mind. I haven't figured out which characters to nominate, though.
I still need to sign up for running events at UCon. I'm just blanking on what to run. One game of Sentinels of the Multiverse, of course, but I have no idea what else. My brain has been too mushy for months for me to come up with anything at all. Maybe I just need to grab something and file off the serial numbers? I think I could. I just feel like the scenario I ran last year didn't work very well. I don't think the players were bored, but that wasn't because I was doing anything interesting.
