I need to spend a little time figuring out my word count for the last six to eight days. I recorded the current numbers for each of the things I've been working on and then saved that over the old counts, so it will be a bit of a PITA to try to retrieve the old numbers. I'm in that stage of editing where I don't add chunks of text, just a phrase here and a word there.

I picked up a pinch hit yesterday. My intention is to start writing it today. I have an ambitious idea, but I'm going to start with something I'm certain I can finish. If I have unexpected extra time, I may go for the more ambitious option, but I want something done ASAP. The pinch hit assignment email says the story's due September 9th, so I need to go and dig up the actual due date.

I've got my posting date for Iddy Iddy Bang Bang. I'll be posting on Monday the 17th. There's a lot I probably still want to edit between now and then, but I'm still way too close to story to see any of it properly.

I managed to sign up to run one UCon game. I'll be doing a session of a board game called Ghost Fightin' Treasure Hunters. No one else was running it the last time I checked with people doing scheduling. I told them I'm willing to run it more than once if that's something they need (it's a family friendly game with rules that can be scaled in difficulty). I still want to run an RPG session, but I haven't figured out enough of that to sign up for it yet.

I got the sheets changed and two loads of laundry done yesterday. Today, I need to deal with the trash and recycling. A chunk of the day will be eaten by taking Cordelia to her annual physical. I couldn't schedule that before school started because of how full her calendar was in August. [personal profile] evalerie will be helping with transportation because, otherwise, I'd be likely to have to spend about five hours on buses or waiting for buses today.

My hands are giving me more trouble the last two or three days than they had been for a while. I'm wondering if it's the changing weather. It's been wet and cooler.

I have realized that naproxen helps my shoulder if I take it before my shoulder starts to hurt, but if I wait and take it when I'm hurting, it does zip. I'm wondering if taking the stuff early stops the cycle that makes it get progressively worse-- That is, it hurts which makes my muscles tense further which shifts things further out of place which hurts more which makes my muscles contract further which...

The underlying problem with my shoulder is that my muscles keep pulling the uppermost rib on the right up and out of place. So it's a kind of chronic semi-dislocation. The only thing that will help after things start pulling out of place is to make the muscles relax and then manipulate things (a couple of my PT exercises are aimed at that manipulation, but they only work if I'm relaxed).
