Nov. 8th, 2018 07:51 amToday is going to be 90% writing with bits of packing and chores. I did more planning yesterday than writing, and spent about three hours out running errands.
I had forgotten that there's a branch of the credit union out by Kroger, so I got that business taken care of there. I needed to adjust the amount transferred from our main account at a different bank for payments on our home equity loan. The other bank, Chase, makes setting up and changing the transaction incredibly difficult if we try to work from their side. The credit union can set things in order pretty easily.
I got a teller who was new and who had never done this sort of thing before, so this was a lesson for him that involved his supervisor talking him through the process. I don't think it took much longer that way than it would have.
I got a couple of bags of groceries. My phone was almost out of charge, so I didn't have access to my list and only bought parts of what I intended. The main point is actually to have things that I can eat between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. tomorrow. The food for sale at the convention consistently made me sick last year, so I want to be able to feed myself entirely from what I bring. The things I bought are things I can put in my backpack and have them keep without refrigeration.
We won't get access to our hotel room until 3 p.m., and Scott is running games from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. I'm not convinced that I'll be up to getting our things from the car and taking them to the room at that point, not as a thing I do solo. There's a store nearby, but it's not walking distance, not for me, not in November, and not while carrying groceries, so that shopping will also wait until Scott's available.
I requested early check-in when I made our reservation, but they didn't give it to us.
So, today's to do list:
Laundry
Preparation for the cleaning lady (who comes at 2 p.m.)
Pack
Find cooler
Cook chicken livers
PT
Write four characters
Edit two characters
Edit setting/rules document
Print everything
All of this stuff must be done by 10 p.m. tonight. None of it is optional. Most of the chores are things that can be done in small pieces. The writing, well, I'm afraid of not getting it all done.
