Jun. 6th, 2013 08:58 pmI've finally made the switch from Camino to Firefox. I'm still stumbling over things in Firefox that don't work the way I expect them to and having to do mental gymnastics to figure out how to do things that I'm used to having be simple. I had to make the switch, though. Camino was aging and is no longer under development. I thought about moving back to Safari, but Safari burned me badly once (It spontaneously and irretrievably deleted all my bookmarks. I still haven't found everything I lost). I've been using Safari as a backup browser so that I can have my second Gmail account open while I'm still logged in to my first account.
I will still be using SeaMonkey for web page composition. It's simple and free and does everything I need it to do. Not that I'm doing a lot of web page composition these days. Our webserver has been down since all that trouble we had with our DSL, and getting it up and running again hasn't been a high priority for Scott. I still tell myself that I'm going to update my fic recs pages, but it's been years since I last did, and I'm overwhelmed by the scope of the task. My fic is mostly at AO3. The fics I've been hosting for friends may not be available elsewhere, though. I should let them know that the server's down indefinitely.
At any rate, advice on how to make Firefox work would be welcome. I'm working at a pretty basic level, so it's safe to assume that I don't know much of anything (I'm still fighting with my imported bookmarks. Finding them after importing them and figuring out how to make them accessible was a challenge).
