I'm trying to decide what to do with my writing time this summer. There are two exchanges I've done before and enjoyed, the Narnia Fic Exchange and Parallels. I don't think I can do both, and I'm on the fence about which one to choose. The NFE has the advantage of a canon I know well and can quickly review. It also has a longer writing period (due date mid-August). Parallels would be more challenging as I'd have to do a detailed review of whatever canon I was assigned. I'm a little worried that people won't ask for any of the fandoms I'm capable of writing. I like the challenge of a new fandom, though, and I like writing for fandoms that don't have a lot of fic.

At any rate, I thought I'd post a poll and let people offer opinions. I don't promise I'll be bound by the outcome of the poll, but it might well tip me in one direction or another.

WOW, we're helpful.

I voted for Narnia because I am much more likely to be enthusiastic about the story you are writing for that fandom, and as we just learned with the WK disaster, I fucking suck as a cheerleader if I don't actually care.

Which might indicate I care about Rheotaxis more than I think! :P If you skip the exchanges and do that, I'd be happy to chat o'nights about how it's going.

I was hoping for a clearer result. So far don't-care-but-want-to-vote is winning.

I'm not inclined to skip the exchanges and write Rheotaxis. I have a really difficult chapter of that coming up-- lots of OCs and world building and hard work. If that option were getting votes, I'd at least consider it, but I'm not likely to do it without lots of encouragement.

The NFE does have two votes now while Parallels has one (and doing both has one). I'm dithering. I may wait to see what the list of nominated fandoms for Parallels looks like before I decide. I think I have time for that.

If I knew better what my summer is going to look like, I'd consider doing both, but I may have two weeks in July filled with family obligations that would prevent me from writing. If those materialize, I can't possibly do both exchanges.

I was selfish and voted for Rheotaxis. Really, I vote that you should do what will make you happiest. ^_^

I still haven't made up my mind. I'm leaning toward Narnia right now because of timing, but everything is tempting.

I can't decide.

I've got a couple of days left to make up my mind. If I dither too long, it will be Rheotaxis by default.
