I had my last knee related PT appointment yesterday. I'm still having trouble with my left knee, but getting new shoes has helped immensely. I've got half a dozen exercises to work on for strengthening my hamstrings, and I'll likely be doing those forever.
I saw my gastroenterologist today. It was just an annual check to make sure that the reflux and the IBS aren't getting worse. I was able to tell her that I'm doing better on both fronts. I've narrowed things down to a handful of triggers that will give me trouble in even small amounts. Raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, and blueberries are problems with the IBS as are sugar alcohols used as added sweeteners in even small amounts. (I'm fine with them in fruit.) For the reflux, all forms of celery are a big issue as are pepper, oregano, and basil. Peppers of all times are bad that way, too, and some forms of fat (still narrowing that down).
Scott's being on 2nd shift has helped my digestive system immensely, so, on that front, I'm not looking forward to him going back to 1st shift. There are other reasons why it will be better, but my body prefers the 2nd shift schedule. I digest better. I sleep better (with less medication!).
The local schools have cancelled after school activities for at least the next two weeks. This will affect a choir performance and its preceding rehearsals. I'm not sure what will happen with that as those all count as exam grades. Cordelia's school is in the middle of 2nd trimester finals this week. Next week will start the new trimester. As long as there's school tomorrow*, the next week or two wouldn't be terrible for Cordelia not to go to school.
*Exams run through Friday, but most people only have one exam on Friday. Cordelia's choir exam is scheduled then but has already happened.
I'm at least half expecting the campus tours that we scheduled at the end of March/beginning of April to be cancelled. One of the schools has gone to online only for a while.
I need to schedule OT for my hands now that I can walk relatively reliably. I also need to schedule a dermatology appointment. Dermatology sent me a letter about how they tried to reach me and couldn't which puzzles me because they haven't called me. There's only one contact number in my UMHS record, so they can't have tried the disconnected landline.
I'm not 100% sure that the OT referral is still valid or will be useful. I need to call them and ask about that.
I also need to call to see why I suddenly have two additional appointments the day of my mammogram. Normally, I have the mammogram and then see either the NP in the breast clinic or someone in radiation oncology. I've been specifically told that I shouldn't see both the same day because it's redundant. I had a breast clinic appointment scheduled at the same time that I scheduled the mammogram. Then, a few weeks ago, I suddenly got notice that I have a radiation oncology appointment that day, too. August will be five years since the lumpectomy, so it may be that both clinics want to see me to close out records. I don't know.
If I do all three appointments, I'll be out there from about 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day, and I seriously don't want to do that. Going elsewhere in the middle isn't really feasible given travel times.
I have a pinch hit to work on. I think I've got a solid idea for it. I just need to write. I've also got a handful of things that are either almost done or new ideas that I need to record before I lose them.

Date: 2020-03-12 12:16 pm (UTC)James was going to go to an admitted-students weekend at Oberlin in April, but now Oberlin is saying that they probably won't resume classes after their spring break, so I am thinking that it's all on hold. Sigh. We had our own issues with trying to go look at schools in past years, but whatever problems we had, Coronavirus seems worse.
