Jun. 20th, 2013 01:00 pmThe WKRF fic is crawling along. I'm not sure I'm going to manage anything near what the prompt is. I probably should have thrown myself on the mercy of the moderator at the beginning and begged for different prompts. These two are both very much things I can't write. I'm nearly to the minimum word count, though.
Last night was the second softball game of the season. It was cool out. I actually felt chilled, sitting and watching the game. I was wishing strongly for a jacket and long pants (as opposed to the t-shirt and shorts I was wearing). Cordelia's team actually won the game by two runs. Usually, we don't know the score, but this time the scorekeeper was an enthusiastic teenager who was happy to tell the girls what the score was and how many runs they needed to win.
Scott came to the game late, due to having PT. The family who gave us a ride made a special trip to do it as their daughter wasn't playing last night (I wasn't clear on why she wasn't. She was in the car when they took us to the game, and she seemed healthy. I suspect that nobody in the family had had dinner, though, and that may have been it). Scott thought the game ended earlier than it did, so he skipped dinner to come straight to the game after PT.
Cordelia's been getting to bed later and later. It's summer, so I don't object entirely. It's just that her being up cuts into the already very brief time Scott and I have to watch our own TV programs. We count on having an hour for that, and, if Cordelia's up past nine, we simply don't have that time. We're so behind on our shows, and the DVR is nearly full (Five seasons of Fetch with Ruff Ruffman and all of Phineas and Ferb take up a lot of space. I wish those two shows would come out on DVD).
Scott's trying to get next Wednesday off work. It may be too late for him to do, but he's trying. It'll be our 20th wedding anniversary, and it would be nice to have some part of the day for just the two of us. Cordelia will be at camp from 8:30-3:30, but Scott has PT, and there's a softball game. We'll see.
My sister is pretty definitely coming to Michigan this summer. She just doesn't know yet which of two plans she's going to follow. It depends on whether or not her husband wants to come. If he does, they'll come a week later than they will if he doesn't (he's got a work deadline the previous week). It'll be complicated either way. If they come early, they'll go to Kalamazoo and then to East Tawas. Cordelia and I will have to find a way to get to Kalamazoo. If they come later, there may not be room in their car for me and Cordelia both. I suppose we'll see.
