the_rckI had fics in two exchanges that revealed authors over the weekend. One story was a pinch hit; the other was a treat.

Notes: I wrote this as a pinch hit for Fandom 5K. I considered the pairing a challenge because I'm not convinced that a happy version of it is possible in the canon timeline. I thought that I needed Bester in a situation where he wasn't playing up how threatening he could be and that I needed Garibaldi younger and less established in his prejudice against telepaths.
Summary: Michael didn't like telepaths, but he wasn't the sort of asshole to deny a man garlic. He smiled. "It makes a lot of things taste better," he said. "The way it works is there're a couple of families who grow small stuff, seasonings. Peppers are too big, but they got garlic and chives and rosemary and--" He waved a hand to indicate an et cetera. "By introduction only. I've got a standing order. My buddy, Frank, introduced me." He studied Alfred's face for a moment then added, "The food here really needs it. C'mon."
Acting grateful for the favor wasn't even hard because Alfred was definitely looking forward to buying garlic. The odor of it sauteing in the next apartment over had made him crave it.

The timeline is squishy, and he might still be), Alternate Universe - Supernatural Elements, Alternate Universe - Dark, Gang Rape, Team Bonding, Telepathy, Magical Aphrodisiacs, Verbal Humiliation, Multiple Orgasms, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence.
Notes: I set this at the end of Kapital and disregarded the OAV, Gluhen, and Side B. The characters are mostly not any specific and pre-existing kind of youkai because nothing I found fit very well and because everything I found indicated that most specific types of youkai started in literature rather than in folk tradition.
I was very glad that I managed to finish this in time because I try to write Weiss Kreuz whenever I see it requested. Especially if, as in this case, I nominated it in the hope that someone would ask.
Summary: "They still think we're human." Yohji sounded certain. "I'm pretty sure they'll assume psychic powers or human magics before they consider youkai." He blinked then smiled. "Any bets on how long it takes them to figure it out?"
"I think the stamina will give it away," Ken said. "I'm not hiding that."
Aya shook his head. "They'll be too distracted by what we're doing."
