the_rckContinuum season 1 episode 1-2 - Scott and I have started watching this streaming from Netflix. We'll probably pick up episodes from time to time as other things allow (Netflix DVDs, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report tend to eat up our hour and a fraction of nightly TV time). I'm a sucker for time travel stories. The first episode implied that it might be closed loop time travel, but I'm kind of hoping that it isn't necessarily. The possibility of change appeals to me. I also find it interesting that, while the 'bad guys' are mass murdering terrorists, their political agenda is one that a lot of people can sympathize with. I'm less interested in the police investigation part of the story than I am in the glimpses of the future. I'm not sure that the heroine has yet realized what a change in the timeline could do. I'm sure she will.
Fraggle Rock season 1 episodes 1-4 - Cordelia got this from Netflix. She watched the first few episodes, but it didn't really catch her attention. She sent it back without finishing the DVD. I enjoyed what I saw, but I don't feel any need to pick up the show myself. I think I'd have loved it if I'd seen it when it first aired, but now it's just sort of nice.
Kyle XY episode 1 - This wasn't awful, but it was dreadfully teenage. I find I have little patience for shows about teenagers these days (this is a reason I'll probably never get into Teen Wolf fic and fandom). Teenagers make me feel tired (I don't know what I'll do when Cordelia actually is one). This show is about a young man who wakes up one day, stark naked, with no idea how to talk, how his body works or how people interact. He also has no belly button.
Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries season 1 DVD 1-2 - I can't help comparing these to the books. I can generally see why the changes have been made, but I think I prefer the version in the books. I kept feeling that Inspector Robinson was too young, and I missed Ruth and Mrs Butler. I did like the characters who remained. I think they were well cast.
Powerpuff Girls seasons 1-4 - These DVDs are really long. They're two sided and can run more than six hours. Cordelia's been getting the show from Netflix. She's enjoyed it so far, and so have I. I probably wouldn't have the patience to watch all of this on my own, but it's fun to watch with Cordelia. This sort of silly fun is enjoyable.
Sarah Jane Adventures season 5 - This is a sadly truncated season (I assume because of Elizabeth Sladen's death), but the three stories on the DVD were all fun. I've got season 1 in Cordelia's queue. I'm hoping she'll enjoy it. She's been trying Doctor Who (due to a cousin who loves it), but that's often too scary for her.
