the_rckCordelia spent last night in the basement again. She cried a bit while settling in. She wasn't at all sure she wanted to do it again. This morning, though, she told me that she slept better than the night before, so I guess it was okay. We won't be able to do this once school gets going because she needs to be asleep earlier then than she manages when sleeping in the basement.
We got the e-mail today telling us what class Cordelia will be in. There wasn't any surprise in it. The same teacher is teaching fifth grade again this year. We don't know a lot about him, but my impression is that the kids like him. He's the only male regular teacher in the school (I believe one or two of the special ed teachers are male, and the art teacher is male. That's it).
It's too early to know whether or not the same librarian will be at school this year. They might easily have moved her to different schools (she covers two). The school website is no help with that as it won't be updated to reflect who's teaching until some time late in the fall. (I believe the gym teacher is in charge of updating the website, and it's not a high priority for anybody.) I'll have to go in the first day, whether Cordelia wants me to or not (and she'll likely want not), to see if the librarian is there and offer my volunteer time. I might have to go in more than once, depending on which days the librarian is at our school.
