Aug. 30th, 2013 11:59 amCordelia spent last night in her room. She had a hard time getting to sleep because, while she was visiting some friends down the street, they watched part of Watership Down. Parts of it, particularly the gassing of the old warren, scared and disturbed her. She came into our room about 10:30 and cried because she couldn't get those images out of her head.
The kids she was visiting are 10, 9 and 6 years old. Apparently stuff like this is fine for them. (Their father picked out the movie.) Cordelia's simply very sensitive to the scary stuff and has a strong imagination-- One of her difficulties was that she could imagine something like that happening to her and the people she loves.

Date: 2013-08-30 08:45 pm (UTC)I do know that some kids just shrug off this sort of stuff. They don't think about it really happening. It seems to vary a lot from kid to kid. Cordelia will likely never be a fan of horror movies.
